As the name eludes to, *perceptions immediately draws the mind to seeing, to the nuance in everything, to individual experience. This is something we all share, that nothing is black and white, that we are walking contradictions. Rem Koolhaas once said "It is not possible to live in this age if you don't have a sense of many contradictory forces", and there's something quite beautiful in that.

I learned hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail that true presence comes from experiencing the life that is right in front* of you. There are worlds of things we experience on a daily basis that is made up, that is all in our heads. Nature can be a healer in this sense, to bring oneself back to reality. Being born and raised in the PNW, there is a certain mystery that lives in the trees, an eeriness that hovers in the dense fog, an indifference to humanity that sits on the rocky coast and the volcanic cascade peaks. We are the centers of our own individual universes, but it is always an important reminder to get outside of ourselves and see further.
